Darcy and Q and A

Oh MY WORD!!  It was pointed out that my quote for   The Craft Barn Q and L Challenge was wrong. (Thank you Twinkle Toes). So I double checked and had written the quote wrong - sorry all because as I wanted to edit blogger had a moment so I've had to restart all over ROFL.

As you can see the pic above was my original Journal page (complete with error), created with the help of the lovely Darcy's monthly tutorials over at Paper Artsy Blog. I loved the bulrushes and frame she created, so did my own "take" on her page and used several of the techniques she showed us.
I stamped lots of words onto tissue paper.

I used a scraper (grouting tool), to apply acrylic paint in red, yellow, (standard) Amethyst, Dusty Teal, Dolly Mixture and Chalk Fresco paints to the journal pages.

The fun part of tearing the tissue and adding to the painted page.

Luckily I paid attention to Darcy's advice and built my "knocked back" layers of Chalk Fresco slowly and diluted but forgot to use the palette knife to apply - I used that for apply grunge paste later!
I used PS 007 for the flower and bulrushes. The bulrushes were pasted and then reused stencil, once dry to paint using Lumin Arte paint ant trying to shade them! I stamped the birds and reeds from Hot Picks 1005 plate in versafine black onyx ink onto tissue. I managed to contaminate with the Luminaire colours from the bulrushes, so had to quickly colour and stick the image onto the page!! Using PS007 I stencilled with Coloubox eggshell white  and clear embossed the lower 2 flowers and transparent sparkled the top 3. It needed colour so off set the stencil to top 3 flowers (Darcy had shown this a few months earlier) and painted using Luminaire Wisteria.
The technique I know I will use again is the edging created using torn paper and Dusty Teal Fresco paint.
The apt quote is here  and so I have corrected the original written quote !!!

I had also entered the following challenges

Rhedd And Rosies - Anything Goes

Beautiful page Carol. What a lot of work you put into it, all the stamping and the tissue paper layer is awesome. The bulrushes are fabulous :o)
I hate to be a party pooper, but you forgot to use either Proud or Vintage in your quote ;)

Oh I did exactly the same thing with one of my challenge entries - quoted to the wrong part of the song lyrics and so missed out the word that should have been used!!!!!
Love your background piece, it is fabulous and the quote is great too!
