This weeks theme at Lots To Do is backgrounds.The background is brayered over a Dream Weaver template, which I then removed removed coloured the white atea in gold pen, stuck some glitter strands on to imitate snow - the rest is self explanatory!
This is a card I have made and need to foward to Ali at Crafty Ribbons using the beautiful ribbon which can be found here . Would be great for Wedding cards too!

Yesterdays peek was the front cover of an ATC holder

I wanted to try something new and found this holder.

I decided to have a go at one and this is what I came up with for Ali at Crafty Ribbons as she has received some gorgeous Christmas ATC'S!

The tag punch allowed me to see a larger area of the ATC than if I just used an envelope with the closing flap removed, you could try nesties, sisix dies ...
I stitched the enveloped to the front cover - you can add more pages easiily by cutting the beading thread and re-stitching you could use thin ribbon, embroidery thread.....

I've made anoother for Caz - when she's got it I'll reveal it to you :')

Great challenge over at Created By Hand .
This is an altered box I created for Crafty Ribbons Challenge 6.
I first painted the box with white acrylic paint with a dash of Pearlescent pearls powder added X2. Sprayed with Crafty Notions Lustre Aubergine colour spray and brushed several times. Buyetflies cut from ribbon and with Faux gems box decorated.

This is for DD 15th which she happily celebrated yesterday. It was a quick card Kanban from a QVC buy recently! Obviously the money was the beast thing about the card :D

As posted yesterday I was lucky enough to win downloads from Charmed Crafts . This weeks Copic Colour , is a colour mix - great DT work and prize -(I used the colours closest as I don't have a full set - and rules allow you to :)).

I decided to make a card for DD birthday April for DS3 to give as she is going to be 15 she wants money and is a shopping queen!! I was spoilt for choice and as I still have our card to make wanted the shopping image for us and decided the very bright pink would look great on a ball gown!!

I coloured the image with copics and the bracelet I coloured with a metalic pen, white glistening card stock was embossed with Big Kick and texture plate, I then brayered a pink colorbox ink over the daisies and went round the edge of flowers with pink copic pen and around edges cut card stock too - love the way the purple absorbed into paper and gave a bit of a distressed look. I then cut alphabet and swirls from sisix dies and card stock.

Copic Colour Challenge

I enjoyed this challenge over at Copic Colour Challenge.
I decided to try and recreate the original sketch by brayering Color Box inks. Onto this background I stamped directly flower images and coloured these with copics. The main image I stamped coloured cut out and layered onto the background to add interest and dimension.

The 3xflowers are from a newspaper using the technique Rosie descibed and I beayered 2 tones of color box cat eye inks prior to punching.

Whoo hoo

I won Hazels yummy candy which I received midweek, and I'm so sorry but several children have been poorly this week and this is the first chance I've managed to update blog.

Poor MIL is waiting for her birthday card and gift too so I really have struggled with time management, and being able to leave the house this week :D. I have phoned MIL and appologised fluckily she's very forgiving and understanding :D!!

My Attempts at Sooting

As detailed below I sealed with a varity of mediums to see which I preferred.... although they all look rather messy :)).

For my ATC I chose to use the packaging tape as the effect is crystal clear and completely sals/protects the sooted image.

I rubbed off the excess soot and inked the remaining card with blues and the fish with green and blue ink.Inked and stamped a key, crystal embossed the whole ATC. stuck a shell embellishment in a corner and added notes stamped from golden textured paper.

Well I decided to join in Saturday's Workout .

I prepared what I thought I needed and set to sooting my card....... well it seemed to be taking an age I tried blowing the flame, using a flame in a container all I did was scorch the card and not have too much soot... not one to give in I persevered and caught a corner of card alight!!

I wrote on a forum - seeking advice and they all giggled and thought - or rather, for some it confirmed that I really am a nutter...

I returned to the instructions on SCS mmmm..... should have spent more time reading them before......... it really is a quick thing to do and the results are great now I have no Matte spay so am trying several things to protect ny soot stamped images... will photo and explain tomoz in daylight :))

This weeks challenge was metal,as always great DT and prize... on an earlier challenge we were encoraged to take inspiration from blogs and I took tine to look at the talented Rosie's blog - check it out here , in particular her metal art. I had also seen on the Tanda forum a link to The Scrapbook Lounge anither great site in particular this link. So I prepared the can and tried various mediums/ punches / embossing tools and initially created a pretty frame which I can use in a future project...
