"Let It Snow"

Having created a Christmas Canvas I decided to make a card where the stamped images used (other than phrase) are non traditional stamps to design a Christmas card. I used a Crafty Individual corner Stamp for 2 corners and to make a couple of rough snowflakes. The sentiment stamp is from Sizzix. All were inked in Silver and clear EP.

Onto a piece of card I sprayed a selection of perfect pearls, stamped the TH fairy and die cut using Nestabilities and a plain larger circle die for the outer circle to form my bauble. An old can pull to create the top of the bauble. Gesso with applied with a cocktail stick for snow. Snowflakes punches from white card to add more interest and finally silver ribbon tied in a bow.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges

A "Hearty" Christmas Tree

Having been lucky to win the Craft Stamper Take It Make It Challenge in September I also got the chance to be  Guest Designer for the November Challenge  - Use a non Christmas Stamp To Create to Create A christmas Themed Image.

I had lots of fun in altering an A4 art canvas into a Christmas picture.
A few people who I know well, may now be spitting out their tea/coffee in surprise - as I don't usually do "large"   :)

So here's a quick resume of the process. Paper Artsy Fresco Paint Toad Hall, painted onto white card. Invoke "Textured Hearts" stamps inked with metallic Green from the Colorbox Petal point Brocade wheel, embossed with clear EP. Then fussy Cut.
Music Tissue paper given to me by the lovely She was glued to the canvas and left to dry. Then the background stamping began, I used a large Harlequin stamp for 2 corners using a clear pigment pad and covered with Crystal Stamp n Stuff EP  in 2 corners. Not wanting square edges I tore a piece of paper to mask off some of the stamp - remembered to keep the paper for later too! for the opposite corners I did the same using a Dylusion background stamp.
I wanted a rough idea as to where the tree would sit so I could concentrate on decorating the surrounding areas more. I used Stamplogy Stamps Jazzy Swirls which were stamped using same inks/EP as the corners to further develop the background and then I had fun spraying Glimmer Mists in Cranberry Zing and Antique Gold onto the canvas.
I was having so much fun it wasn't until after I over- stamped the corners of the canvas in Colorbox Frost  white and clear EP and  colourbox sepia back and Fun Stamps Pearl Gold EP.(Off set to create more depth). I had even started to create the border using DecoArt Gesso and more Toad Hall paint with Dylusion stencil that I remembered to take a poor Photo!!
A slightly better photo in daylight - I do need more stencil practice ! Next To create the Star - I used Paper Artsy Ellen Vargo Eclectica 3 Triangle stamp  -
 - I used Paper Artsy Ellen Vargo Eclectica 3 Triangle stamp stamped in Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink and covered with Sparkle n Sprinkle Petina Gold EP. Using a scalpel I fussy cut the Middle and edges to create the star. I directly applied Gold ink pad to the star and EP again.
For the tree container I used card painted in Cranberry Zing and Ellen's Square using inks and EP as above. Fussy cut.
The Tree stump is card painted with PA Fresco Tikka and Old Gold. Then an assembly of tree, stump, star and pot/container. I used foam to give the heart branches more dimension adding Glossy Accents to ensure they stayed in position! Little gems from stash to add the final touch.

Another photo of the completed Canvas - in real life it has loads more sparkle!!
Thank you for dropping by :)

Rusty Twinchie

Recently I did a Twinchie swap, as my lovely swap partner has now received them I can share them on the blog

A short while ago I was lucky to attend a workshop with Andy Skinner and so decided to use some of the techniques on two of the Twinchies. The lace edged smile and the one below. I love the rusty, aged look and depth the layers of paint have created.

I am entering this into Artist Trading Post Challenge which is Any Old Iron The face stamp on the above Twinchie is by Stamp N Stor Art Parts #5 .

Have a lovely weekend and Thank you for dropping by   :)
