Paper Artsy Inspired - Ellen Vargo

Ellen Vargo showed how she created a journal page in 3 great videos which you can see here.

I followed within the confines of my crafting goodies, I used acrylic paints, the smaller leaf from Lin Brown ELB01 plate of stamps. Artistic Stampers Punk Plaid Large stamp. I used scraps from another project as a frame rather than the map and a different quote. The result is below....

TMTA Nature and Through The Craft Room Door

This is a basic quick ATC for  TMTA whose theme this week is nature, the image below is part of a Funstamp  stamp

The background was created using inks which were blended, image stamped in brown then pencil coloured - ingredients below .

At last......My Interpretation of Pop Art

The latest The Craft -Room Challenge (20TH Century); and the Q and L challenge (Art and or Road) at The Craft Barn  had me coming  up with so many ideas.... I had to plan, develop and create on one - if only time wasn't always an issue :)

As a child of the 60's I loved comic books and I think POP ART is truly representative of the 60's, especially Andy Warhol. The inclusion of advertisements in "art", bubble graphics, to the iconic "Marilyn Diptych" (originally on silk), which has seen so many later interpretations I decided to reproduce my own. Not having a Marilyn Munroe stamp I chose a new to me stamp by the Stamp Attic, ATC sized card, primary coloured paints and inks, mounted the ATC's into an art journal did some hand doodling, found a quote from A.Warhol and mounted  tada...........

 

I enjoyed taking the journal into the warm sun - shame about the shadow, so back indoors.......

Altered Paper Mache Heart

This weekend and early week I have had so much fun altering a paper mache heart I think no other image/object conveys love and romance more ....
Here is the finished heart and the second photo shows my ingredients. I used diluted PVA glue, a neutral shade of tissue paper onto which I stamped just 2 of the lovely "Floral Flourishes and Swirls" using Nick BanTock's Van Dyke Brown Ink. I distresses the edges of the torn tissue with the ink pad, having torn to size, coated all in another PVA coating once in position, loved the effect that the ink bled a little and blended, (using foam tool), over the heart. I made a ribbon bow and stitched using clear nylon thread a small bronze bird.Fabric glue secured the ribbon bow and lace to the heart.

At last !!!! Craft -Room Challenge (Tando Sponsors),and TMTA

Gosh it's been great to get inky, more time spent looking for equipment than playing!! At last an ATC I'm entering this for Craft -Room Challenge 6 days left if anyone else would like to join! What a long time since I last posted. I have been crafting a little just not joining any challenges or getting as inky as I liked mainly because we've refurbished the kitchen, bathroom and toilet and installed lots of electrics into the garage sooo  the bulk of my crafting goodies are still in storage :( . Lots To Do - Backgrounds

This weeks theme at Lots To Do is backgrounds.The background is brayered over a Dream Weaver template, which I then removed removed coloured the white atea in gold pen, stuck some glitter strands on to imitate snow - the rest is self explanatory!

My friends Daughter was celebrating her 21st Birthday yesterday and as our children are the same age we spent many happy days out with them when they were younger....
