Alternative To A Valentine's Day Card

Over at Country View Crafts February's Challenge is a 30 minute time challenge - GULP. I can spend weeks faffing without even getting midway through a project so this really was a challenge!!
I had just received some awesome large tags from Woodform Crafts  (they are a dream to work with- as are the other items I have brought from them).I put a coat of DecoArt Tinting paint - wow great coverage and so quick drying . Then using a brayer built several quick coats of Pyrole Red and Diarylide Yellow Acrylic paint layers .
After  a blast with the heat tool onto the Carabella Studios"Man and Bird" stamps  (heart stamp and sentiment stamped together) with Versamark and clear heat embossed. The sentiment stamp is so appropriate for this time of year and will save me making a Valentine's Day card  :)  :)
OK time is ticking - an edge or stencils ....to add a little bit of a finish - no time for both...

Edging won - scrap piece of paper alignment with cutting mat, more tinting base ...
By the skin of my teeth DONE .... no seconds spare to add fibres or ribbon  :(
Well it was good fun - no time to over - think and although I would have done more and coated the whole with Matte medium I quite like my tag  :)  :)
Whew photo heavy post THANK YOU for dropping by xx

My Buzz-y Life - Altered Diary cover

Well better late than never - at least there's still 11 and 1/2 months left of 2017  :)    :)
I have no photos of the process sorry. I began with a Brushos background in Purple, attached to the front of the diary and sealed with DecoArt Matt Medium. Crafters Workshop stencil - mini Busy Bees was used for the hive and background bees and trails. I drew around the hive with a pencil and whitened the area before painting with DecoArt paints.
The stencil was positioned over the hive and DecoArt black gesso stencilled  onto the cover.
The Title and year were computer generated and image transferred onto cover.
The textured edges are DecoArt Texture paste. Painted black, silver and the dabs of purple are Luminarte Twinkling H2O's.
Lots of layers of matte medium through and over the top once the Fussy cut Stampotique Bees (Jo Capper Sandon), were stamped, coloured with alcohol inks, glamour dust applied via cocktail stick to wings fussy cut and positioned onto the diary.

Whew - thank you for looking - would love to hear from you :)

My Take on Tim Holtz Tag - August

Wow ;pong time since posting .......  life has been busy :)

I have an nice accident on my background - hated my first and second attempt so white acrylic has given me  a nice lightly crackled background.
I recycled a blue cardboard box and managed to capture some bar code and wording - love to say it was planned but was just a happy coincidence :) - love the textures here :)

Viva Las Vegas - Tag ( Also For Simon Says, Stamplorations and The Artistic Stamper Challenges)

Long time without a post....

As it's a Bank Holiday weekend  I decided to play with some LOVELY LVL rubber and TH Distress Crayons.
I used Sizzix Red Tag die and cut a base card and another corrugated card and glued them to give a thicker tag base. Initially I applied some DI - Walnut Stain and Old Paper - flicked some water but was not too happy with the result, so decided to play with TH Crayons - love them they smudge and blend so easily give great coverage and quick too! Vintage Photo and Rusty Hinge were blended and then Black Soot smudged onto the tag edges.

I stamped my Mary Vogel Lozinak Bee Hung Up  stamp, colourd with copics cut leaving a white border to help "pop" the image. I then created my saying on PC and assembled   :)

Happy New Year

Oh it's been months since I blogged ...

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and I wish you a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

The bulk of my crafting goodies are all stored away so I was lucky that family and friends treares d me to some new toys - my eldest son brought me some Derwent Inktense Pencils which I used to colour Rick St Dennis Hippocampus Image.

This has not yet had any water added to the pencil ink -  not sure I really want to.
The pencils are fantastic to blend and work with - really had fun :)

Tag

Oops bad blogger!!

It's been a while, and I always find crafting time a challenge with the long school holidays.

Here's my take on Tim Holtz's Augusta Tag  - details here

I used TH Cargo stencil for the background and used a Runway stamped image rather than photo. Not much space for epherema so I was happy as it is.

Ingredients
Stamps - Tim Holtz Hash Tags, Runway, several from Bitty Grunge Sets
Stecil TH Cargo letters
Textured sand paste various inks, paint. copics pens and embossing powder

I would also like to enter The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge -  "Get Texty" - I love how TH  # Tag stamps look like type phrases.

Thank you for looking :)

PapererArtsy #12 Stencils

I enjoyed watching the great video introducing stencils I was heavily influenced by Leandra using grey on a tag and so here's my version. Not having the lovely Lin Brown's stencils and stamps I have Jo's lovely stencil (007) and some stamps (JOYF 10).
My stencilling is not as neat as Leandra's - but I am pleased with the finished tag and the London  Night and Stone painted background help make the flowers pop!

I outlined with a black copic pen - all other ingredients are shown below.
Off to enjoy this lovely weather.
