Awfully Big Art Adventure - Fabric

OOPS

I'm sure I read this as a fabric and stiching challenge - and I didn't notice the Arch bit ... sorry, since it took a while to make I thought I'd share it with you anyway and you can giggle and note that I will try and take all the info in!!LOL
The material is a piece of bandage so quite textued! This was after, (trial and error)misted the bandage first gave better results than misting with water after applying Adirondack colour wash. Abstract pattern free hand design.

Ingredients
Adirondack stream colour wash
Bandage
Embroidery threads
Fabric flower, pearl bead, base card, peel off letters and acrylic butterflies from stash.

This Thursday - Challenge 18 Art from the Heart

This week was Art from the Heart - create any thing you love .... well I love trying new techniques - well techniques which are new to me so I tried PAPER MOULDING. I saw this techniqe here - Paul's great blog!!THANK YOU Paul.

My paper Moulded topper!!I chose to decorate the outside as it was textured whilst the inside was smooth I presume it's a personal thing as to which side you choose to decorate!! However the twinkling h20's soaked through so I can use either side!
Embossed

This maybe a better photo as the sun came out!! Debossed side

YIPEE - TANDA STAMPS and THE BIG ART ADVETURE CHALLENGE

I was lucky enough to win "This Thursday Challenge" and able to choose a sheet of Tanda stamps.... YIPEE ... being the indecisive person I am I was too spoilt for choice and so just had to buy some too.... so a HUGE THANK YOU to both THIS THURSDAY and TANDA STAMPS .

I just needed to play and have been very patiently waiting until today - as I wanted to make a real inky mess!!
I had spotted a new challenge The Awfully Big Art Adventure site and this weeks challenge allowed me to play!

I tried using Tim Holtz adirondack alcohol inks direct to the surface of my tin - but wasn't pleased with the result. So thought I'd try acetate, which was better then came up with the idea of stamping and designing onto paper and then using the acetate as a wrap...

This Thursday - Challenge 15 A Round Tuit

This challenge title made me smile, and is so apt for me :)).
Great DT work and Fatima as this weeks guest also Great prize of 7 gypsies goodies from the Craft Emporium.
I've been meaning to make a book cover/holder for post it notes for a while and so needed no more encouragement! I also need to make a note so it gets a chance of getting done :))

My first attempt ended in the bin but I quite like this one!
If I make another I may trim 1cm off one of the long edges, I also discovered you can easily trim a standard card in half and make 2 covers!!

This was made on a sheet of A5 Card, run through the Big Shot using A Texture plate from the series 3 set. I then brayerd inks over the top, then cut and score the card to fit the post it notes.

This Thursday and TGIF - Masks (TT), Minature (TGIF)

This thursaday the theme is Masqerade or masks or using masking technique in whatever you create.
There is fabby DT work for inspiration and a great prize from Tanda Stamps. A link for the challenge is here.

I decided on a mask - it is a one to make from an image, which I scaled down and then outlined and coloured using Sakura pens and stickles. I then masked the image and coloured the background of my Twinchie with Color Box Inks.
Mounted and cut 2 peel off butterflies and used peel off letters to spell mask - had I given it more thought I would have mounted the letters then inked and then removed the peel offs!

Well no sooner do the children return to school than a a nasty cold strikes them down and they managed to infect DH and eldest son too... so not much free time as planed this week! Luckily they appear brighter but all are still poorly...

So my great plans have been limited I've managed to do Fiona's inchie challenge had hoped to use them in Rainbow Lady's challenge but fell short of time!
